Milestones

We are not huge on worrying if Madi is making milestones. We feel that she will eventually do everything she is supposed to do, and pressure won't push it along. We like to go with the flow and let her lead because then we can actually enjoy her and enjoy the small moments.

However, here is a list of some things she is doing right now, at 31 months...

  1. brushes teeth
  2. washes face and hands (rolling up sleeves first)
  3. dries hands
  4. hops
  5. gallops
  6. dances
  7. runs
  8. climbs stairs, alternating feet
  9. names all colors
  10. counts past 10
  11. sings ABC's
  12. can pedal a tricycle and move a bit forward and backward on it
  13. can help dress and undress
  14. can take on and off shoea and socks
  15. can velcro her own shoes
  16. can "flip" on her jacket
  17. helps zip coat once it is started
  18. builds with small, medium and large legos
  19. can cut playdough with plastic knife
  20. draws circles
  21. names what she is drawing (sometimes)
  22. follows a 2 or 3 part command
  23. recognizes things outside of our house that we have in our house
  24. names multiple friends and teachers, even when they are out of sight
  25. sings songs at home that she learned at school (remembers tune and words well enough that we can understand what she is singing)
  26. knows red light means stop and green means go
  27. knows the direction we have to walk from school to get to our bus
  28. holds pens/crayon/marker between thumb and index finger
  29. can make very small and large strokes on paper
  30. names family members who live in Minnesota when she sees them in pictures
  31. "No, I don't like it"

More later,

The Abelsons
