December 17 we started shopping.
Steve and I are big on beginning shopping for major purchases early and doing research, not just taking people's advice and buying it for that reason. I mean we know we are having a baby, why not start looking now...Not only is it fun, it keeps the stress level down!
We went to Buy Buy Baby (AWESOME), Albee baby, and Planet kids. It was helpful to go to all of those stores because each staff member gives different information, you meet other parents in the store (we met a very nice and helpful couple), you can compare prices, and you see many different products that the other stores may not carry.
We LOVED Buy Buy Baby with a passion. It was huge, had many products, and a knowledgeable and calm staff who spent a lot of time with us. We were helped by a man named Steve from St. Louis Park (YAY).
We have many ideas now. Stroller shopping in NY is like car shopping in MN, because of all of the walking we do here. You need a semi-light stroller with durable wheels for all the miles of walking. Also, we have little things called Subways here, which have stairs, so we need a stroller that can be carried easily up or down the Subway stairs and that will fit with ALL the people in the Subway, which isn't easy without a stroller!
Well, it was a productive day, and now we have many ideas/options to think about.
